Today I started taking the ferry across the Hudson River from Midtown West 39th street to 14th street in Hoboken and walked past 1206 Washington street where i stayed in 2003 during assignment on the US software implementation.
Next I followed the foodpath along the Hudson River all the way doen through Newport and Jersey City to Liberty State Park as far as the bridge to Ellis Island.
On the way back to the ferry at Morris Canal Basin I was surprised to find the abandoned Central Railroad od New Jersey Terminal that used to be the starting point of many immigrants traveling to their new homes once they were allowed to enter the US.
The ferry took me to the World Financial Center on lower Manhattan from where I walked to the World Trade Memorial Park and then on to Broadway, Bowling Green and Wall street for some more 2003 memories before walking back along Broadway to my hotel at West 29th street.
